Strengthening the ecosystem of leaders, organizations, networks and connections that enable nonprofits to thrive and sustainably achieve their missions.   

Our Sector Effectiveness grantmaking is focused on New England, with a current emphasis in Massachusetts. We also participate in targeted national efforts that advance these priorities and that benefit our region.

Alongside Barr’s three core programs, our Sector Effectiveness team focuses on three strategies that are essential to the health and effectiveness of the people, organizations, and policy ecosystem that are critical to the sector.
